Ninja ZX-10R 40th Anniversary Features

Building on WSBK-Proven Performance

With an engine and chassis designed to be the fastest on the track, the Ninja ZX-10R offers a high level of circuit riding potential. To ensure it continues its race-winning ways, Kawasaki engineers made a host of changes that will benefit racers and World Superbike teams alike.

Styled for Aerodynamics

A prime example of form following function, the Ninja ZX-10R’s styling package was designed with aerodynamic performance firmly in mind. The sleek, racy looks offer significantly improved drag resistance, increased downforce (thanks to the aerodynamically sculpted front cowl with integrated winglets), and better wind protection.

Light-Handling Chassis

Complementing the highly acclaimed stability of the 2019 model, updates to the chassis geometry contribute to increased cornering performance and light handling.

Aerodynamic Riding Position

Updated handlebar and footpeg positions contribute to a more aggressive, circuit-focused riding position, while a new seat design helps riders minimise drag when tucked behind the windshield going down the straight.

Integrated Riding Modes: Sport, Road, Rain, Rider (Manual)

All-inclusive modes that link S-KTRC and Power Mode allow riders to efficiently set traction control and power delivery to suit a given riding situation.

Enhanced Street-Riding Experience

Technologies for street-riding enjoyment; Features like Electronic Cruise Control, full-colour TFT instrumentation, with smartphone connectivity all add to the experience.

Powerful 998 cm3 Liquid-Cooled, 4-Stroke In-Line Four

The Ninja ZX-10R’s powerful engine offers cleaner emissions while maintaining the performance of its predecessor.

Air-Cooled Oil Cooler

Based on feedback from Kawasaki’s WSB race machine, the air-cooled oil cooler features an independent circuit. A design often seen on high performance models.

Next-Generation Ninja Styling

The aerodynamic racer-inspired front cowl, highlighted by compact LED headlights, Ram Air intake and a tall windshield, is the “face” of the Ninja ZX-10R’s next generation Ninja styling.

Integrated Winglets

Winglets built into the upper cowl generate downforce that helps keep the front wheel on the ground during strong acceleration.

High-Grade Suspension

Circuit-focused settings for the WSB-developed BFF (Balance Free Front Fork) and BFRC lite (Balance Free Rear Cushion) shock facilitate front-rear weight transfer, and contribute to light handling.

High-Performance Brembo Brake System

Dual high-spec Brembo M50 monobloc calipers gripping large Ø 330 mm discs, specially prepared radial-pump master cylinder and race-quality steel-braided lines* deliver next-level braking performance. *Steel-braided lines on the Ninja ZX-10RR only

Technology to Help Riders Explore the Limit

The highly sophisticated electronic management systems on the Ninja ZX-10R facilitate rider control and allow riders to experience what it is like to ride a high-powered superbike at the limit on the track.

40th Anniversary Emblem

On top of the fuel tank is a 40th anniversary emblem, designed in a style similar to a championship sticker and reminiscent of the 1980s racing scene

Optimized Colour Layout

When applying the three-colour scheme to these modern Ninja models, the colour layout and balance was carefully optimised for each model

80’s and 90’s Fonts

The displacement numbers featured on the tail cowl were newly produced based on the font used in the 80’s and 90’s

The Kawasaki Side Logo

The “Kawasaki” logo on the side fairing is positioned with the ideal size and balance for each model

Lime Green Wheels

Lime Green painted wheels add to the classic look

Three-Colour Fuel Tank

The Ninja 40th Anniversary models feature fuel tanks with a special three-colour design

Championship-Winning ZXR-7-Inspired 40th Anniversary Styling

To accurately reproduce the original colour scheme of the time, the blue used was newly recreated for these models

Gold Coloured Fork Tubes

The Ninja ZX-10R/ZX-6R front fork outer tubes are painted gold, inspired by the ZXR400/250 front forks. The new gold is a more current, vivid colour than used originally

Reminiscent of parts used in 80’s and 90’s
